When Civil Disobedience Elicits Death Threats - The Dixie Chicks Know

A Texas radio station said it will start a broadcast ban for Madonna, presumably for swearing during the Women's March, but those Texas cowboys probably didn't play Madonna's music in the first place.  You all know the last time a Texas radio tried to stand in for the state and The Dixie Chicks may never forget.

The Dixie Chicks were drawing death threats for their statements regarding George Bush's aggression in the Middle East and such is civil disobedience.  If it doesn't elicit a reaction then it's just a parade.  In that situation and at that stage, there were only two possible outcomes:  you win or you die.

The Rockhouse has had the deepest respect for The Dixie Chicks and from well before any of that because they started their careers singing on street corners.  The respect is something the Rockhouse won't forget.

The Rockhouse always supports civil disobedience as it's a citizen's right to refuse but there won't ever be violence in association with it unless it comes down from the state or we become just like them and the last time that happened there were rivers of blood.  Civil disobedience provokes but it must not shoot back.
