Sorry but that line is about as funny as this situation gets.
Although John Oliver gets off some good shots on that vicious, self-justifying bastard, there's no way the show can possibly make it all funny, particularly after pardoning Joe Arpaio has been one of the most heinous acts of the Donald Trump Presidency.
Something which was likely quite a bit fractious was the discussion with John Oliver's staff regarding which of the stories of utter lunacy from the last weeks most merited attention. I suspect the decision point was in the last line in which Oliver said Arpaio is a threat to the rule of law in America.
