We love the nervy bastard who picked up a bucket of gold dust worth $1.6 million and he walked off with it. That stunt was all the more impressive since it seems the bucket weighed eighty-six pounds. (CNN: Bucket of gold flakes valued at $1.6 million stolen from truck)
Yep, that's how they do it in New York City these days. Just pick up that gold and walk off with it.
Cops have got his picture so he's probably busted but maybe he got out of the city as quickly as possible and by car so they couldn't trace any ticket purchases.
Ed: crooks always go home or near it. They seem to think that won't occur to cops.
They do that quite a bit ... and get busted quite a bit.
Or maybe he gets home and calls up his friend. "Hey, cabron. I've got an, um, opportunity but you have to leave right now and we might well be gone for a long time. Grab your passport. Are you in?"
With his friend driving, there's no credit card trail from him buying fuel or motel rooms, etc. So long as they chuck their cellphones, they will be damn hard to find.
Ed: they're busted as soon as they use the passports!
It would behoove them to go to a country without an extradition treaty then, wouldn't it.
Ed: does that work?
Dunno. Do I look like an international robber. I saw that in "Die Hard."

This surely has inside connections. It was taken out of an armored vehicle. And no guards are present
He will be telling his story to his cellmate soon
I'm hoping he gets away with it (larfs).
They always go home, tho, so, yep, likely he has a cellmate soon.
