Ed: Russian horse?
That's what she said.
There's a price to pay for trying to train a horse by breaking its spirit rather than working with it. The price this time looks an elbow smashed all to hell, the shoulder and / or collarbone are done, and the arm will likely fold under his chest where some ribs will break.
Yeehaw!
Cat loves horses and not just for riding on Saturday afternoons. It's been that way since she was quite young and she has lived it all the way through. Her view of rodeo is extremely low and it disgusts her to see animals treated like this.
She strongly believes you must work with the horse to build trust and when it's time to ride it will let you. I would be remiss if I did not pass that along.
Ed: this sounds bleeding heart like you want to make friends with the animal.
She learned about Arabians so what should I tell her (larfs).
If friendship is the trust then it is making friends but that's just playing with words. The horse needs to trust you and, if you're good at working with them, it will. She's had an Arabian stallion up on two legs in front of her and she stared it down so, nah, this isn't about bleeding heart.
Note: it will be if you run! (larfs)
Also, don't take this to mean she's a richie rich with a yacht moored at Monte Carlo because that's not even close to true.
Ed: what's Christmas about horses?
Well, the really dedicated horse people may ask you back how can there be Christmas without them.
I can't say I've really come to love horses but I have come to appreciate them much more.
