West Virginia Sues Big Pharma for Saturation of the States with Opiates

Some of you know the situation from the real world rather than CNN and how how much Big Pharma has been flooding the streets with opiates to accompany the narcotics being imported from elsewhere.  Rates for narcotic drug overdoses rise much faster than the Dow Jones Index which Trump touts so much while he does nothing about ensuring there's sufficient NARCAN to help overdosing addicts.

West Virginia decided the behavior of Big Pharma is not damn good enough so the state sued for reckless irresponsibility of such vendors.  (RT:  W Virginia county sues drug distributors over opioid epidemic)

West Virginia’s Cabell County Commission has launched a lawsuit against numerous major drug wholesalers and retailers, claiming they flooded fewer than 100,000 people with 40 million doses of hydrocodone and oxycodone.

A lawsuit against AmerisourceBergen, CVS, Cardinal Health, HD Smith, Kroger, McKesson, Rite Aid, Walgreens and Walmart claims that the drug distributors breached their duty in reporting suspicious opioid prescriptions.  The suit was filed by the Cabell County Commission and seeks to have the behavior of the distributors considered a “public nuisance.”

Far more than a 'public nuisance,' Big Pharma opiates are a clear and present danger to America and the ever increasing tide of addict overdoses is the proof of it.  If the same number of people were being killed by so-called 'terrorists,' Donald Trump would be calling out the Army and the National Guard but instead he does nothing except to slap a few bricks together for a wall to try to pass himself off as a mason.

Ed:  he's descended from the Knights Templar?

How could it be otherwise, huh?

This bit is mostly for Lotho since he's got the most immediate connection to such facilities and knowledge.  Therefore, there is interest in his perspective on this plan of defense against Big Pharma.

While there's a bit of personality regarding Trump's incompetence and blind arrogance, that matters little relative to the larger problem.  It's becoming more clear each day he's just another hack with nothing much to offer.

The much bigger problem is defending against the state in general, the CIA particularly.  There was an article earlier today in which it occurred to me people think Washington actually supports them but we don't even exist and the proof of that is how America will 'recover' from a nuke war (i.e. two thousand of the 'best people' might but you fucking won't).  (Ithaka:  Scott Pruitt, Trump's EPA Director, Denies All Scientific Reason)

Watson:  it's America versus the Corporates?

Roger that, Watson.  We need a national defense against Big Pharma, the CIA, an overbearing state, etc, etc.

The same question exists going back to the 'hood:

Black man don't own no planes.
How does that stuff get here?

Not sure how you get from Big Pharma to the CIA.
A little tidbit. America uses 80000kg of opiate prescriptions a year. Remember pills are measured in most. The next closest country in the world uses 200kg/yr Great Britain.
Tennessee is in the process of legislation to list the top 20% of prescribes. This will be used to target education of the doctors. I think it will be used to target those Drs allowing to be used as Dr shoppers and identify the pain medication Drs that just sell the prescriptions
I believe the next wave of lawsuits will be class action against Big Pharma similar to the tobacco suits.
I would love to be lead counsel as that will generate billions and billions of legal fees. But quite possibly break the backs of the pain clinics

I didn't think you would be averse to what they did and I'll leave the CIA out of it since we know what's happening with Big Pharma. It sounds like more than W Va are setting up to take them down so that's excellent news.
