Few bring honor to the song as beautifully as the Dixie Chickens in this rendition. Many times the celebrity singer for such events butchers it because it's difficult to sing and many can't hack it but try anyway. This time it's beautiful and the harmonies are like no others. They do no narcissistic grandstanding but rather sing it straight-up and, for this one, we have no problem and prefer it to be sung the way it was meant to be sung.
And some question their patriotism?

Even when you have their talent, doing this would be terrifying. There's nothing except you and the microphone and the crowd will eat you if you fail.
They are and remain the finest kind of patriots this country is capable of producing. When they see something wrong they seek to right it and regardless of any personal risk created by it. We hold the highest possible respect for them.
