The Dixie Chicks started out singing on street corners and you don't get any more down-home American than that. They became huge stars behind all that work and passion they put into it.
And then Natalie Maines spoke in a way the GOP did not like and they brought down every hellish flame and insult onto her and the band they could manage and that was everything including death threats. They tried to destroy the band by taking them off the air and did all they possibly could to crucify them.
Now Fox News and the GOP candidates do that to Obama while waving flags and singing of their patriotism. Somehow, we do not think the Dixie Chicks will be joining them.

And one more because we love the band and we're just as pleased as punch to tell you they are touring again. This song has nothing to do with anything political and is more about old-time country. These girls are from Texas, straight out of the heartland.
"Cowboy Take Me Away" ... well ... they took the cowboy away but the band plays on. You go, girls!
In fact, tho, we are ready to make nice. However, we have some conditions and Bernie Sanders states them well. Those things George Bush was doing ... well ... those have got to go, mate.
