The Tony Bram's Orchestra is the hardest-working band I have ever seen! They did a two-hour set before the sun went down. They took a break for about an hour and waited for the sun to set and then came out for a another two-hour set. There was a short break after that one and then started into another one. It's now one thirty and they are still going strong!
Here are some pictures from the daylight set:
Young, talented, and beautiful. Life is good! What was especially marvelous about them is that all of them seemed to be having so much fun in the performance.
The orchestra has one hell of a fine horn section.
This is Charlotte and you can see she holds nothing back in her singing.
This man is just one of the keyboard players in the orchestra and he looks so dead serious in his play, doesn't he. Take a look at the next picture.
He was having a wonderful time playing the accordion and this is an instrument that would be dismissed in America but that's a loss as Europe revels in every instrument it's possible to play. It's one of the most wonderful things about the European approach to music, that anything is cool if it brings a great sound and this musician was flat-out blazing fast on his accordion.
Yes, I know you want to see the girls again and here are some of them. There are at least seven female singers and at least two or three male singers.
They changed costumes many times during the course of the show and the whole thing flowed incredibly smoothly. Tony Bram is playing the trumpet on the right side of the picture. He's older than everyone in the orchestra and he has a clear genius for finding talented young musicians and putting them on-stage. He sure makes them work but to all appearance they love it.
So maybe you want to hear them, right?
Tony Bram's Orchestra recorded in the show tonight!
And, yes, Cat and I did dance. She asked me if there could be some way she would be able to hear the band and I thought, hmmm, if I put the microphone in the window then I could use Skype and that might even work. Then I thought a wee bit more and thought if the mike would work then the videocam built into the computer could possibly show her the concert. And it worked!
This evening has been serendipity at its finest as that can never work if you expect it but suddenly there's a concert I never expected, my hotel room as got the best possible view of it, and I could take Cat to it which I never dreamed. You can call it what you like but I'm going to call it magic!
