Nothing Like a Drum Team in the Morning

Saint Amand-Montrond was excited yesterday and it grew throughout the day.  It started early with a marching band and everyone in it was playing a percussion instrument.  They were making one hell of a racket too but everyone around had huge fun with them.

They didn't march in stiff rows and the band was hardly one for military precision but they were lots of fun.  Wake up, wake up, le Tour de France is coming to town!

They stopped outside Le Rotonde, a cafe directly opposite the square where Tony Bram's Orchestra played and if the noise annoyed the servers there than that would be just fine with me.  The ridiculous arrogance of the servers is a bit difficult to understand from people whose purpose is to fetch sandwiches.  It is also uncommon as I've seen far more good manners from people than I have the cliched bad manners.

People were having fun with the morning in all manner of ways.

Everyone wants to be a Le Tour racer!

No sooner had that group moved away then a couple went over to do it too.

This young couple couldn't resist and seeing them having fun with it was all part of the excitement of the morning of Le Tour.
