More Pictures from Montelimar

If there is any remaining doubt in your mind about Montelimar being the Nougat and Bonbon Capital of the Universe, this should probably settle it.

Still not sure?

If you're still not getting it then how about this:

The road is N7 and this was originally the main road to the south until the A7 Autobahn was built.  Traffic along N7 dwindled and the business here fell off.  There are hordes of vehicles running up and down A7 but you can see from the picture that traffic is very light through the actual town of Montelimar.  You will also hear the trains shooting by like jet planes but they too never stop.

Here are some shots around Montelimar:

There are some tourists wandering about but very few.  It didn't seem Montelimar was falling apart but there wasn't much happening.

This is what seemed to be the main boulevard with many restaurants along one side and parking areas that were quite full on the other.  I don't know where the people from those cars went as there weren't so many sitting outdoors in the cafes but the kid here is showing what skateboarders do everywhere.

And on the way back to the hotel, a field of lavender:

Orange is near here and is a great producer of perfumes so that's almost certainly where all this lavender goes.  Never anywhere have I seen so much of it at once.

Remember Le Tour is on now. Might see if you could time the trip to view the peleton roll by

I didn't realise what this one meant at first!

Yes, everything is good now and will roll in the morning. Thank you!

You can see from the articles that my preference is, by far, the backroads. It's confusing but so beautiful that way.

I did check out Le Tour but it's quite a way southwest from here. It would have been cool to take a shot at it! Hey, you, get that scooter off the track!

Saturday's stage of Le Tour de France is from Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule to Lyon. So if you have some time, go for it. Plus is: you get le quatorze juilliet on sunday in the 3rd city (or 2nd, depends on the definiton) of France.

Thanks for the tip as that would be intriguing and Lotho would be green in seeing my smiling face in the crowd but I won't be able to wait for Saturday. I do wish I could. Thank you!
