"It's Novel Being the AntiChrist" #Poetry

Discovering I'm the AntiChrist
is really just as well
since any who may think of it
want me burning up in Hell
and it gets almost amusing
since I'm still alive and free
when the only Hell I'm seeing
is the one thy built around thee

I'm really not a sinner
unless you stretch the word
but only one thing comes from that
you'll take a bust for watching birds
There's one who knows the truth of it
and says, "Don't feel any guilt,"
but it's known even while the words are said
that's not the way we're built

Without those words there is darkness
since that sin is absolutely real
but forgiveness from the one who hurts
starts bringing light we can feel
since in light and love and music
there's the magic of all good things
and any one or all of those is
makes a gala reason to sing

There won't be any burning
not here and not this time
since we know the Traveler is coming
but we cannot know the time
We're curious to hear what he's saying
and what he's doing in his trip
In light we're free to do that
and joining him we will

I may be an AntiChrist
at least in the eyes of some
but that mustn't be a reason
to lose sight of the Sun
Without light we're bringing nothing
without love we can't make it true
and the music brings the song
which gets the whole world through

We don't sing about religion
but do that if you will
and still we will be walking
for the other side of the hill
It doesn't matter if the grass is greener
and there may be no grass at all
but any new horizon
will always hold us in its thrall
