"Old and Wise" - Lyrics on screen | Alan Parsons Project

Bitter words mean little to me
Autumn winds will blow right through me

As far as my eyes can see
There are shadows approaching me
And to those I left behind
I wanted you to know
You've always shared my deepest thoughts
You follow where I go

[CHORUS]
And oh when I'm old and wise
Bitter words mean little to me
Autumn winds will blow right through me
And someday in the mist of time
When they asked me if I knew you
I'd smile and say you were a friend of mine
And the sadness would be lifted from my eyes
Oh when I'm old and wise

As far as my eyes can see
There are shadows surrounding me
And to those I leave behind
I want you all to know
You've always shared my darkest hours
I'll miss you when I go

[CHORUS]
And oh, when I'm old and wise
Heavy words that tossed and blew me
Like autumn winds will blow right through me
And someday in the mist of time
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine
As the final curtain falls before my eyes
Oh when I'm old and wise

As far as my eyes can see

- Eric Woolfson, Alan Parsons

How about a live version as well.  It's a huge production with a full orchestra and lose the idea it's overdone.  "Games People Play" is another of their great ones.

Maybe it's time also for "Ithaka" - Constantine Cavafy.

I just came across this one--Space Time Time Machine. Worth a look if you have not already see it. Wonderful video and pictures from space!! ML

Games People Play...lots of meaning there! Sums up the situation here.

I love it that you pursue it with him and you have heard the beautiful work he does. "Games People Play" is somewhat pop but it still runs deep. People didn't respond much to "Old and Wise" but maybe they didn't get the irony that he performs it as an older man when he wrote it as a young one.

It's been kind of flogging me as to why I did not review music so much when I was younger but I think more than anything else I didn't have time and that was a mistake but it's done. I will make up for that as much as possible!
