I Saw a Red Panda and Had to Know Her Better

She's a lovely creature and she doesn't look terribly afraid but she seems to have a keen awareness.

Zen Yogi:  why do you call her she?

She has a sweet look about her but maybe all of them look like that.  There's more to that look too.

Credit to the Cincinnati Zoo on this one and get a look at her tail.  They're gorgeous animals.

Zen Yogi:  those claws aren't so gorgeous, Silas

Relax, Yogi, as the claws are used for climbing and they're really good at it.  Red Pandas are harmless bamboo-eating vegetarians (mostly).  And don't screw with them.  They're endangered.

Here's one in its defense posture and they're noted for their ability to hold this stand for ten minutes or more.

Normally she will run up a tree but if she can't do that then try to scare the threat away.

Her diet is extremely low-calorie so she spends almost all of her time either sleeping or eating.
