Thinking of Alexis de Toqueville on Awakening on the Trail to the #Blotto

Disclaimer: this is straight-up writing of active lung cancer in me but nothing in the #Blotto set of articles has been written with thoughts of trying to shock or disturb.  I am using in-home hospice and that's the best circumstance I could hope relative to being in a hospice clinic or, worst of all, to be admitted into a hospital.

Waking with the thought of Alexis de Toqueville in your mind would be regarded as weird no matter what the circumstance and particularly this one.  There was a lot of turbulence through the night and consistent to each wake-up was the imperative to remember the connection to de Toqueville.

Zen Yogi:  connection to what, Silas?

I dunno, Yogi.  I forgot.  It bugs the bejeebers out of me and has done ever since last night.  Modern democracy owes a great deal to him based on his writing in the early 19th Century and that's important to modern history but the #Blotto connection isn't clear at all.  He was also likely the first person clearly defined as a modern liberal ... but what's the connection.  (WIKI:  Alexis de Tocqueville)

There may have been an angle in this.

The failure of the French Revolution came from the inexperience of the deputies who were too wedded to abstract Enlightenment ideals. Tocqueville was a classical liberal who advocated parliamentary government, but he was skeptical of the extremes of democracy.

- WIKI

I see the extremes of democracy when democratic systems are forced even when they obviously don't work.  Various positions become policy now even when they do not possess majority support.

In that context, de Toqueville relates directly to the #Blotto over the short term and you for, well, forever.  I can't be sure this is the connection it was so vital to remember last night but it looks like an excellent match nevertheless.

In an unrelated note, the Klipsch ProAudio 2:1 system arrived today and that sounds bad ass just sitting there.  Somehow Yevette manhandled the box in from the porch and the subwoofer tells you sure that box was heavy.  She is also extremely bad ass.

Rockhouse tactics have applied all day in getting the box unpacked and then going through the steps to get the bits where they need to go culminating in getting the subwoofer beast underneath the desk for the final connections before giving it power.  I have zero strength now but I could get the bits positioned around the desk to get it all staged for the subwoofer.

My thought is to flop like a walrus under the desk and Yevette can pass the wires to me by poking them down via the back of the desk.  Doing that alone is a huge hassle but this way could almost be easy.  Getting back up again will be a comedy with me but there won't be any video recording.  There's still an excellent chance that this evening all problems with audio here will be eliminated and they have been a drag for both of us.

Goodness will fly all around the Rockhouse when the audio is active and spreading joy joy feelings all over the place.

Zen Yogi:  and no more buzzing, popping, or other spurious sounds

Too right, Yogi.  No more of that.

Nurse Debbie came over today and she is remarkably good.  She did an excellent assessment and she has a charming, sparkling personality.  She emphasized that her highest priority is in keeping me comfortable and the most effective way to do that is by altering the medicines prescribed since everyone is different.  She was highly attentive to that because of recent horribles which have become de rigueur but she reviews to determine if she has something for that.

It seemed so but the morphine doesn't do all that much to create nausea.  It's nauseating to some extent but mostly it's like turning my mind into lunchmeat.  The ganja, in turn, does bring a real amelioration to that negativity and goes a good distance toward helping me maintain with the whole set.

Much love to you all.
