The Ongoing Strangeness on the Trail of the #Blotto

Disclaimer: this is straight-up writing of active lung cancer in me but nothing in the #Blotto set of articles has been written with thoughts of trying to shock or disturb.  I am using in-home hospice and that's the best circumstance I could hope relative to being in a hospice clinic or, worst of all, to be admitted into a hospital.

It didn't occur to me until this morning that I have a birthday in a couple of weeks.  Yevette was already on top of that and she surprised me with what she said was an early birthday present.  Actually she had opened the delivery package inadvertently since she thought it was part of a number of deliveries which relate to her enthusiasm for the crazed dolls of the 50s and 60s.

We never open each other's packages but she had already made the mistake so she decided there was no better move than to go forward with it ... and here are Gumby and Pokey.

Gumby looks particularly cheerful, doesn't he.

Yevette sometimes has some difficulty in seeing the goodness in this time but she sure didn't miss with this.  She asked if I had loved Gumby and this became the surprise for her when I told her I knew of Gumby but not as a childhood pal since I rarely saw him because this was before we came to America.  She knew of my time in Australia but it wasn't until these critters that it synched it for her on when that happened.

Zen Yogi:  what's the recommended age group for these, Silas.

That would be age three and up, Yogi.  They're perfect.

Zen Yogi:  what about this birthday then?

You have heard many times a birthday is just a number so this one will be sixty-seven to catch up with Cadillac Man who got there about six months ago.

There's more goodness to be found and it's only necessary to look for it.  In this case, we come up with Izzy the Dog and he's not the same breed as the dogs Doc fancies or I don't think so but he seems to have the same laidback manner.

There's exceptional goodness in him after seeing he survived mostly unscathed the fires in the Napa Valley and he was lost for some while.  Not surprisingly, the family went nuts with the joy of finding him even after the house had been burned to the ground.

Zen Yogi:  will you keep pitching the theme of searching for the goodness?

That probably won't change until I find a better theme which isn't particularly likely.  People often have trouble finding the goodness even when they're not sick so there's plenty of reason to continue.

Much love to you all.
