The Eternal Mystery of Stink Bugs of the non-Hollywood Variety

Mates, this bug is real and it's actual name is WIKI: Catacanthus incarnatus.  Regrettably, that bug doesn't have anything like the graphic personality of the one in the picture since they also call him the  Man-Faced Stink Bug.

Now ain't he a beauty.  For the true aficionado of the animal kingdom, check them out in their mating position since then they look like tiny train cars.

Zen Yogi:  the one at the top must have been painted

It looks that way, Yogi.  Hopefully the little creature was dead by then, tho.

Zen Yogi:  you don't know that, Silas

Yah, that's true.  Maybe there's some way to subdue the creatures temporarily so they don't injure themselves trying to wriggle away.

Zen Yogi:  bug anesthetic is far-fetched but the one in the picture isn't injured so there's one piece of evidence

Aha, Yogi ... now I recall using ether on the Drosophila / fruit flies used in experiments in my ol' Dad's labs.  There really is an anesthetic.

Zen Yogi:  I bet this turned out weirder than you thought it would ... ha ha

No doubt about that, my furry buddy.
