They kept saying this is coming
but life is short and talk is cheap
we listen to them maunder
but then just go to sleep
Everyone believes their shrieking
They can do the things they say
but we're not going to see it
at least not on this bright day
We'll not live to fear their radiation
when all we'll know is one bright shock
We'll not enslave the days of our remainder
to their bitter and cynical clock
There's always life in our music
with concerts coming daily and so I say
that's the vivid kind life we're missing
in waiting for their climactic D-Day
We aren't running from their maelstrom
and there's really not a place we can go
but we won't be fretting about the nightmare
we just want to hear the show
In the concerts we see our people
expecting nothing but to share the joy
and here we see the best of us
when there's nothing we will destroy
The music comes wafting toward us
and it joins us as we approach
and love comes in wave all around us
in living beyond any reproach
The life we want we'll have anyway
if we don't fall before their fears
we will live right here in the music
we'll not abandon our lives to tears
