Maybe the first thought is, uh oh, they're seriously not going to like this place but don't forget there's a liberal minority in Israel and they want peace too. We may differ on how the Occupied Territories will be managed (or not) but the desire is the same with stop the aggression and make peace.
Most important for me to hold clear is dealing with Israel is not about dealing with Judaism since you know anywhere in the world someone is touting religion it will always be for power unless it's a truly religious person and he or she is doing what she is supposed to do (i.e. without politics).
To my knowledge, it doesn't take a politician to get you to Heaven or wherever else you may want to go.
The Rockhouse can be friends with anyone anywhere ... but not before they put down the guns and stop the ridiculous pretense they stop the problem when they are the problem.
That Israel is largely Jewish, I don't care; my only interest in any state is whether it behaves well with others. Right now, Israel does not.
In this or practically any other thing, the Rockhouse is not defensive since every word I've written has been true and there's nothing anywhere in Ithaka which inspires anti-Semitism; hopefully it's quite the opposite.
I know that kind of hatefulness exists in America but it doesn't come from us. We suspect the vandals who do it also desecrate mosques and sometimes burn churches so long as it's one black people attend. All of that has happened in America and more than once but the Rockhouse has nothing to do with it and we do not condone it.
Fundamental to just about everything here is we don't care what you believe, just don't be an asshole about it. We don't like missionaries but we do think Pope Francis is a grand fellow since he doesn't come to me; I need to go to him. OK and fair enough. If I feel like it, I will.
There's just one request from Ithaka and it's never changed in all my life. Put down the guns and then we can talk. When we start doing that, we can make anything happen and it's almost always going to come out well when we all want the same thing anyway ... to watch the games on Sunday afternoons and no-one gives us any shit while we're doing it.
It's not a hard thing;
we don't think it's much to ask
when it isn't so difficult
to accomplish this task
since really it's about stopping
something you already do
so the question of whether to end it
comes right back to you

Ed: will you be putting this crap poetry in everything you write?
Good chance of it. Any other questions?
