They Call Him El Celacanto

Zen Yogi:  if I were the diver, my question would be, "Does it bite?"

All of them bite, Yogi, so really the question is whether any particular fish will bite you.  My preference is to stay out of deep water where the Fish Larger than I live and I don't need any truck with those rascals ... those hungry rascals.

The diver seems to carry a hefty surprise so there's no telling of his next move.

Zen Yogi:  when he's known as El Celacanto, it must mean he's a coelacanth but I thought they live in much deeper water

I thought that too, Yogi, so we must have an answer.

(pause)

That story is busted, mate, since coelacanths like to rest in caves which are usually at most up to five hundred meters below the surface.  It's not so far from the depth SCUBA divers can reach.  (WIKI:  Coelacanth)

They do somewhat resemble each other.

Although I have never fulfilled my dream date with SCUBA, some of the Regulars have done it and I'll satisfy myself with deep envy that they managed it.  My greatest dream for SCUBA was to dive the Great Barrier Reef and I don't think any of the Regulars have done that but I would envy them after diving anywhere with fish in it.

Snorkeling is great fun and I love it with fish and coral all over the place but it's so two-dimensional next to SCUBA.

Regulars, I really am green that you have done this but I love it since even that is taste of what it would have been like if I had managed to do it too.  Rockhouse hat tip for major aquatic coolness.
