Disclaimer: this is in-your-face news about my cancer and there's no intention to shock or disturb but you may find it difficult.
Eating just isn't working as there was a small but temporary success today after days but that didn't last. I am trying but my stomach is not cooperating. Katfish Konway suggested soup and that might not be such a bad idea. (Ithaka: Katfish Konway, New Press Coordinator for the Rockhouse)
That link is your easy exit since the article isn't an attack but comedy.
Zen Yogi: would she think it's funny?
She just might, mate.
The dates for the flyby down here are clear and those are pushed up from October which is prudent. The situation is accelerating and noting that is the biggest reason for the #Blotto update now. I've said previously I like you and would like to see you but what you do is your choice. Regardless, you will be missed if you opt out.
Yevette just advised me of earlier dates and you're welcome however you play it. Doing it sooner is almost certainly better than later. Between she and I, the Rockhouse has been crawling with cancer all year and maybe it was a mistake to backpedal the brutality of it. There is no evidence of brutality now beyond the fact of what's happening in my lungs but the chemo treatment for Yevette was ghastly to behold.
There are no pending appts with VA since there's nothing they can do after I have rejected the only solution they know. In other words, there's nothing bitching up the schedule for a visit. An appt will likely come from talking with Miss Rita but that will come quickly.
The way things went with texting Yevette worked well this afternoon. I won't ignore anyone but responses take longer and longer. The way she related things, it sounded like it was extremely smooth and the information she gave me was important. I'm not ignoring anyone but I wear out fast and maybe it's best through her to help make it a little more dispassionate and easier all 'round.
One more on colonoscopy since I've just seen how colonoscopy saved Yevette's life. The most crucial point is there was some kind of mistake in process with paperwork which pushed the response to the colonoscopy much longer than it should have gone and that's what permitted it to get so far out of hand. Don't fuck around with colonoscopy since this is not the kind of arena in which there are do-overs. That delay is why the treatment was so brutal on her.
Zen Yogi: is that why you decline chemo now?
It's a consideration, Yogi, but it's not the reason since it was realistic they could fix Yevette but it's not realistic to believe they can fix my lungs. Doctors aren't so good at accepting defeat but nothing is defeat when the circle of life plays out as it inevitably will. My mind is clear even when I've broken a whole lot of other things but that's the best way of the worst for me.
Zen Yogi: because you can still produce?
Yep.
There's #Blotto news of a non-bummeroid variety since Yevette will be heading out to the park this evening for a bit of, I guess, Labor Day festivating and I've been pumping it up by saying, "Don't miss this, girl. This is the whole reason you were trying to get better, right?"
She's in the tub now so it's going to happen. The HillBenders are a country / bluegrass band which covers songs by The Who and they do it exceptionally well. I've seen part of a remarkably high-quality video of them playing and the cats are good. I'll try to get a link for that to post it on Ithaka.
What do you know, here are the lads now.
It's happening since they just split for the show.
Zen Yogi: do you try to make this less of a bummer to read?
Sure and perhaps that hasn't been the best way to give an accurate perspective for timing or whatever. It would do no good to yammer about me achin' ass and it would particularly suck to bounce back and forth so I'll stay with this approach.
Zen Yogi: are you fighting, Silas?
I'm just living my life, mate. That part of all this really is alright.
