Although prog rock has been a huge fancy for me since forever, I was not familiar with Gentle Giant.
So I decided to get that way.
The Rockhouse has no interest in comparing them to anyone or any other band but we hear the dynamics in sound and in composition which go straight to where prog rock needs to be. If we're going to get formula music, let's make it a really complicated formula.
Ed: you should have found them long ago
Ain't I hearin' that now, mate.
Pollyanna: why should they make it complicated?
Because they can, Pollyanna; because they can.
Every once in a while there's a Rockhouse lament for the absent staccato but prog rock never fails to bring it. For the Rockhouse, that's a vital dynamic which is often overlooked in rock.
