McLaren MP4-X

Concept car from McLaren for the Future of Formula One.

Someone observed, um, how do you steer dis bitch?

There's no chance the tires can clear the housings so how does she turn.  Since this is all sci-fi anyway, perhaps the housing turns and the forward section of the cowling is a type of tie-rod structure.  Roll with it, fantasy is good for, well, something.

This MP4-X should run well over 200 mph and maybe 300 mph (?) so what in the world kind of brakes and tires can handle that kind of work over the course of an entire race.

Imagine this vehicle at Monaco.

(Ed:  um, nope)

Same here.  The track would probably be left with plastic bits all over the place and no clear winner of the race.

The MP4-X is beautiful but how can this possibly work.

Formula 1 has used plastic in years. That would all be carbon fiber

Seems like there sure would be a mess of it on the road after racing at a track like Monaco, tho.

Those guys, are pretty good. And rarely hit anything but the carnage would be massive in that boat. Followed by flat tires on everything passingvthrough the debri

She would be a thrill ride from the gods on an empty track, tho! You would die if you got that much real wind in the face but it does seem kind of twisted not to have any.
