Melanoma is the type of malignant skin cancer which made such a mess out of Jimmy Carter but he was too tough for it and it did not kill him. Everybody loves Jimmy Carter ... except for a few old cranks who probably don't even like their own mothers.
Skin cancer has plagued by life and melanoma is the only type I have managed to dodge. Therefore interest is high in being able to detect it early and kill it.
The fight against skin cancer just got a new weapon. For years, melanoma researchers have studied samples that were considered uniform in size and color, making them easier to examine by more conventional means. But melanomas don't always come in the same shape and hue; often, melanomas are irregular and dark, making them difficult to investigate. Now, researchers at the University of Missouri have devised a new tool to detect and analyze single melanoma cells that are more representative of the skin cancers developed by most patients. The study, recently reported in Analyst published by the Royal Society of Chemistry, outlines the new techniques that could lead to better and faster diagnoses for the life-threatening disease.
Science Daily: New microscopic technique could help detect, diagnose metastatic melanomas
If you're white and ever had a sunburn, you're a candidate and do believe it since skin cancer takes a long, long time to develop.
Ed: you sound like my mother!
Yeah and I fuckin' will since this will kill you and don't toy with me or I'll start throwing more scar pictures out here from skin cancer surgery on me. You would like that, wouldn't you?
(crickets)
There's no particular reason to go through the rest of the article but it's there for the interested student.
The Rockhouse wants some awareness for the disease related to skin cancer since it doesn't appear people paid all that much attention to it even after Jimmy Carter when many seem to think the risk only applies to models, vampires, and newborn babies.
The risk for white people is vastly higher and you can get all twisted in some kind of self-pitying racism but black people aren't vulnerable to it because they fucking aren't. Your Snow White self is immediately vulnerable, however.
Ed: damn racist!
I'm tellin' you, li'l snowflake, screw with me and I also throw the charts which show the proof. You might want to try something novel on this one, junior brainiac, and listen since the Silas knows the material backwards and forwards.
Ed: you only do this because you love us?
It seems a good enough reason, li'l junior woodchuck.
Ed: like I was sayin' ... just like my mother
Well, failing to listen to her sure worked well for you, didn't it.
Ed: why didn't you listen to your mother?
No-one knew about all this skin cancer rot back then (shrug).
Ed: but now we do and you're my mother?
Something like that
