Trump Talks About Military Reductions and Now We're Listening

The F-35 is a favorite Rockhouse target for slashing the insane spending and Trump says he's going after it.  He's also saying we should look for big military cuts after January 20.  (RT:  Trump says F-35 program cost ‘out of control’, wants to save ‘billions of dollars’)

As before, the Rockhouse believes in defense but bankrupting the country to do it doesn't solve the problem and it causes another into the bargain with undue economic hardship internally.

I'm aware of the relationship between spending and the GDP.  So what if it's arguably affordable when it's stupidly wasteful.

Trump is also getting flogged for sending Big Oil to Russia but I see no problem in buddying up, business-wise, since that reduces in a big way the inclination to blow each other all to hell as we fear from the confrontational gamesmanship.

So long as we're not radioactive, we can probably fix things.  It's simple and obvious but the generals don't get it and they're out-of-control too.  You're Commander-in-Chief, Trumpie, so command.

We get it that his EPA pick sucks as do many on his Cabinet but that's not true across the board as above.  For EPA, he's placed a destroyer and it's disingenuous crap to say it was for any other reason than letting corporations get by on doing nothing about climate change.  It's miserly, short-sighted, and destructive.

That doesn't need flogging since positions are binary on him and they're not likely to change.  Nevertheless, the vast majority of scientists say there's no time to screw around.

There's not much to do with the guy except look toward whatever possible useful things he can do when obviously he is bringing bad ones as well.  Those ones suck but I'm reasonably optimistic about this aspect of business with Russia rather than business-as-usual.

So long as the kids don't end up radioactive then we have a chance to fix anything.  Given Clinton's behavior since the election, I've no reason to rescind any idea she was the worst and the most dangerous.

You can't leave a nuke war to the generals; they don't know how to behave.  It's far too severe a matter to be relegated to those who think in terms of Acceptable Collateral Damage.  Clinton and Obama have been so stooged to them it looked like they were dancing for the Puppet Master.

Include Biden on that as well since we was more aggressive than Obama, just as was Clinton.  Biden wanted to make more missile strikes in Syria but Obama refused.  These people are specifically not Democrats.

I do believe there's reason for valid optimism in this aspect.  There are some aspects about him which are good news.  There's still nothing on that B-21 since it needs to be flushed as well.  He's really not in a position to bluff at this stage since it's going to be beyond awkward to change his mind next month.

There's been nothing on DARPA since that lot is total black box and isn't even listed on the budget.  They make all kinds of insane things just because they can and they won't even tell us what it costs.

Trump may just be on it with this part.  Waiting to see.
