Researchers Found Egyptian Queen Nefetari ... or Some of Her, At Least

Queen Nefetari was one of the wives of Ramses II and apparently the favorite.  Researchers studying her tomb in the Valley of the Queens have found her ... or at least her legs.  (Science Daily:  Mummified remains identified as Egyptian Queen Nefertari)

This is only starting to get weird.

This included a pair of mummified legs which could have been part of a later interment as was often the case in other tombs in the region.  But as the legs had never been scientifically investigated, it was decided to undertake the recent study to find out if the legs could actually represent all that remained of one of Egypt's most legendary queens.

There isn't any particular explanation for what happened to the rest of her corpus.  The idea her legs were interred at a later time doesn't explain how they originally got separated.  Did the grave robbers steal her mummy but without her legs and what possible reason could there be for that.

There's no extension on this one as I only ran it because it was too strange to pass by.

Hey, relax.  No matter how boring this gets, it still can't be as bad as watching Mariah Carey's reality show.

I do admire the determination of researchers as they will glean some science out of this.  I can't say I'm particularly interested in what it may be but I'm sure they will do it because they're indomitable that way.
