Then the Big Fish Swam Away

"Big Fish" is a marvel with the story of the story teller and my whole trip is about story tellin' with all that remains after I poof being the blog and the videos on YouTube.  These things create an illusion and it doesn't matter if it's real so long as it's convincing.

In the epilogue we're told we become immortal through our stories but I don't believe anyone cares much about immortality because our preference would be to remain mortal and breathing.  Even so, that stories become immortal is one of the most extraordinary things about humans.  Before we had written history it was oral and it was passed down through generations by the story tellers.

In other words, nothing has changed much about that since the cavemen were cooking food over a fire after hunting it and killing it themselves.  Whomever writes the history, however it's written, will write it as seems fit.

There's been much about 'becoming' in the movies lately since the father became the son in "The Way" and the son became the father in "Big Fish" but it's as astonishment for a young man to believe it's even possible.  For a young man, the father is he and I am me and how can you even suggest one becomes the other.  It creeps up on you with the odd thought coming sometimes, I think I'm turning into my father.

Next thing you know, you're telling a an extremely-sick old man about a Big Fish.

We see all the horrors of the news and they're presented as if reality but we see the personal realities such as the ones shown in these movies and we know that which is real is much more likely to be shown by those which are presented as fantasy.

Sometimes the news is called a hard reality but that's only part of the sales pitch for a manufactured product.  Most or all of us have been repulsed by the endlessly insulting mainstream news which disgorges a non-stop stream of horrifying product expecting all of it to be accepted as Gospel truth.  Many people do but it's not clear why when there's often little or no basis to it.

An easy example of manufactured news is just about anything about Iraq since hardly any of that has been true ever since Bush / Cheney concocted a reason to bomb it in the first place.

The people who do this aren't Big Fish as they're only Big Bullshitters and, like Donald Trump with his burning tailfeathers, they hardly ever become Big Fish.  Clinton is another as Big Bullshitters are good at getting money but she will still be shit in eight years, just like her husband.  There isn't a President since FDR or Eisenhower who will be remembered well.

So they don't matter any more than any other hemorrhoidal aspect of life to making Big Stories because all they can do is get in the way of them, they never have such stories of their own.

No small few of us know horror because we only have to open our eyes because we're living it.  We don't need a diet of it in the news and you don't need it here.  I don't need it here either and my cop is the reaction to that toxic crap but the first answer is don't look at it at all.  That's been my strategy with CNN and Fox since both of them are ludicrous and life won't visit either one of them any time soon.

We need much Bigger Fish than that.  Even if nothing else, they're much more interesting to watch.
