Silas for Cat's birthday show and he might look like kind of a stud ... if not for being green, 'n all.
Yes, this seriously has far greater reality than social networks, etc and Cat and I know each other better than we ever would have reached via other means. Masks are pointless in virtual because you're already wearing one so let's see what's real. That works the other way around just about anywhere else and you know how that goes ... all the world's a stage.
The promised audio track (Mystery Lady) from the show has been uploaded to the Ride the Dragon podcast / direct link to Cat's Birthday and it's still free. Due to the size, it was necessary to use MP3 format but it's at 320K quality which is not too bad. The file size is an eighth the size of the master so that's remarkable, if you like.
Writing an editorial isn't fair since that preloads your perception of it but please do cut some slack for it's been a while.
There's an ongoing impediment to live since lighting the stream to the Internet for the audio means it will start getting echoed back to the mixer. That maxes the audio on my end, causes distortion, lots of bad things. This has come up multiple times and there's no good solution due to el cheapo mixer. There's one other angle which I may have tried before and I'll try a sound check with a live stream later today when I'm sure no-one else will be using it.
The actual physical difficulty of playing a set remains the same and no detail necessary. Besides, I've never thought regular gigs are a good idea anyway.
