John Oliver on the RNC Convention (video)

Here's the latest after a few weeks in the wind.  It's more Trump bashing but, as always, he does it well, particularly with regard to playing feelings rather than facts.

We want to see more depth but that's impossible with Trump because it isn't there.  That's also why we have never considered Trump a serious candidate because his platform will fall apart under any real scrutiny.  That may not be true with Clinton since she's wide-open to attack on multiple fronts but he would never get away with it going up against Sanders.

Jill Stein has offered Bernie Sanders the spot of co-pilot for the Greens but that's not likely to work because she seems regarded more as the Intelligentsia than Presidential material.  However, the other way around could be dangerous since Sanders has the Presidential standing, recognition, etc.  The ideal is a coalition between Independent Democrats and the Greens.  Now you're talking some serious non-corrupt politics.

That team would be desperate for a Coherent Opposition but pushing out Ted Cruz as their golden hope shows that's not going to come.   That boy has no more imagination than the average fence post. Looks quite grim for the GOP.
