How About a Series for Coolest Things in My Life #Coolness

This one goes back about forty years or more.

I had tentatively started dating Miss Peggy and someone asked me why so I immediately flipped back, "Why not?"

The Astronomer was there at that moment.  After I said, "Why not," he softly echoed it to himself and got seriously thoughtful.  He may not have been aware of it but he lit up the room since it was clear to anyone, this man just experienced The Thunderbolt.

I can cheerfully report they are still married to this day.

Note 1:  The Thunderbolt is from "The Godfather" (first one).

Note 2: it's not important to identify the one who asked why.  He is one of the sweetest, most intelligent men one could ever meet and sometimes he would blurt out something goofy but, in this case, it was highly fortuitous.  ML, you know him since he was puzzled when we started dating as well as he thought you were zany but that attribute is a fine one, maybe one of the finest.  If that didn't do it maybe network engineer will trigger the memory.

Zen Yogi:  that was a short story, Silas

I beg to differ, my furry buddy, since that's a Zen moment which lasted a lifetime.

Zen Yogi:  it was still a short story

Sheesh, you make a tough crowd today, mate.  My question is whether you thought it was cool?

Zen Yogi:  ok, it was cool ... just short

You're a funny bear, Yogi.

Zen Yogi:  I have my moments too

There's no need to extend the story as if it's Taco Bell meat with soy filler so short and sweet will do  just fine.

Zen Yogi:  are you hiding something, Silas?

Nope and I'll tell you anything straight-up.  Last evening went well as if "The Days of Wine and Roses" but that can't be all the time and there's no need for a #Blotto whenever it's not so good.  The short answer is I learn but it's slow.

We may be getting a little off-topic from #Coolness, mate

Zen Yogi:  fair enough, Brer Silas.  How many #Coolness moments could there possibly be?

There should be many, my bear buddy, since, after all, I'm a star, a legend in my own jive.

Zen Yogi:  maestro, rim shot, please

(takes a humble bow)
