The Glory That Was Coal in Virginia

This is what becomes of the Appalachians.  Kinda makes you proud of how much corporate America cares about the homeland, don't it.

Coal mining is dying since it's only ten percent of what it was a century ago.  Resurrecting the industry is just another corporate illusion since it was dying anyway and you see the scars it leaves behind which will take geological change to fix.

There is no doom and gloom regarding the impending cataclysm since the chance is near zero of Trump restoring this industry to the level it was and America couldn't stand the damage if he did.

Warren Buffett thinks trying to bring coal back is ill-advised and you know that man thinks before he makes a move.  We have no evidence Leporine Leader does that so we're inclined to believe Buffett.

"Coal is going to go down over time," said Warren Buffett, seen in January 2017, called the "Oracle of Omaha" for his savvy—and lucrative—ability to read trends and markets

Billionaire investor Warren Buffett on Saturday said he doubted coal could make a comeback, dismissing a push by US President Donald Trump to revive the declining American industry.
"If you are tied to coal, you've got problems," he told the annual shareholders meeting of his Berkshire Hathaway holding company in Omaha, Nebraska.

"Coal is going to go down over time," said the American called the "Oracle of Omaha" for his savvy—and lucrative—ability to read trends and markets.

"I don't think there's any question about that coal is going to go down as a percentage of revenue significantly."

People have apparently forgotten acid rain which is one of the byproducts of burning coal but EPA protection of clean air and water is one of the first things Trump torched.  Given Trump's knowledge of Andrew Jackson and the Civil War, there's no solid evidence SpongeBob Squarehead remembers anything.  It's not likely the fact of it would sway him since he seems exceptionally good at ignoring such things, as is his nemesis.

Regardless, trying to restore the industry is a loser from any view.  The case of it is serving as a textbook example of Trump having no idea nor concern for the consequences of anything he does.
