Ed: do you mostly go to The Guardian to look at pictures?
Yep. They ran an article this morning about how women are overcoming male dominance in sci fi and they promised the typically turgid storylines endemic in their fancy but did you ever in your life for one millisecond hear a woman speak of Ursula K. LeGuin?
Right. Neither did I.
The theme of Division Bell is problems are solved by better communication but we have baffled the concept with bullshit when there's so much communication it's impossible to differentiate that which has any substance without a significant effort to do it.
Ergo, the Division Bell tolls for us all, particularly for women who will try to do sci fi by themselves and thereby exemplify that which makes the Division Bell ring. Apparently they see that as different from men doing it all by ourselves so ring a ding ding for that lot.
