Here's an ensemble Cat fancies and this was during the time of the Moon landing when there was a tremendous positivity and vitality in a great many things. That was partly because doing this was everything Vietnam wasn't and getting to this place was inspired by the Moon.
There's high drama in this look while she retains her femininity and without flaunting it. The glasses are deliberately shocking but they're also part of the astronaut vibe to try to reduce the potential for being blinded by the Sun. (Note: I think that type of sunglass was more for snow country to prevent going snow blind but NASA likely saw that too)
There's a clever drama in the top since it looks relatively subdued when it's buttoned but the design also includes the inside of it so unbuttoning it escalates the panache.
I am a dangerous female, she says ... and we believe her (i.e. the finest kind).
The designer was WIKI: André Courrèges
The astro inspiration in the hat helmets is clear but these ones don't do much for me and go into the category of Things Katy Perry Would Wear.
Cat thought they were swell hats but what fun is it agreeing on everything.
