Gross Misrepresention of Castro

The contention on Facebook was Castro was one of the world's worst for exterminating political opponents but the fact is no-one really knows.  A general estimate is fifteen thousand during his entire 'reign' since '59 but Stalin or Chairman Mao would kill that many each day before breakfast. (WIKI:  Human Rights in Cuba)

For contrast, here's WIKI:  The Great Purge by Stalin and they're not even sure in China with WIKI:  Mao Zedong how many died but it's in the millions too.

Castro was not some kind of civil and human rights virgin but his character has been assassinated since he died as one after the other has vilified his record.  STASI, the East German secret police, did train some cadre within his organization but there's been little objective review of the legacy of any of them.

It was probably necessary to be ruthless to keep America out of his government and he was highly successful that way.  America tried to bully him for fifty years but he never rolled over for it.  Most remarkable.

America's ability to judge other countries is mirrored conversely by its inability to judge itself.

The reason I was surprised by an exceptionally harsh report about Castro is it came from one on Facebook I really do respect.  That list is short but it exists or Facebook would serve no purpose at all.
