Another Huge Helping of Indifference

After yet another shooting in a school in America, the reaction from people in the country couldn't possibly have been more flaccid.  Comments show up on Facebook in-between the soulful expressions of loss for Nelson Mandela and how to bake a good loaf of banana bread.  But there were not so many comments as for the most part people really weren't interested.

The latest incident at Arapahoe High School was straight out of the release of a sequel to Hollywood movie:

Only miles from Columbine High School where so many kids were shot before ...

Only a day before the anniversary of Newtown where so many kids were shot last year ...

We're doing it again at Arapahoe High School ...

Ka-pow Ka-pow Ka-pow

If there was any comment at all, it went immediately to the glory of the Second Amendment with perhaps an extra helping of self-righteousness for the Christmas season in reminding that gun control has never worked anywhere ... except Australia ... and everywhere else it has been implemented.

It's my American right to bear arms, damnit.

Semper fi, motherfucker.

There is a compromise as likely only the Dalai Lama hopes to see every single one of the weapons confiscated.  For many, it would be sufficient if people would just get a little sense about it and limit their weapons to rifles and shotguns.

However, the NRA will make no compromise as America, freedom, and the right of Fox News to broadcast the whiteness of Santa Claus would disintegrate if there is any compromise on private ownership of weapons.

They say Hitler would never have been able to come to power if there had been private ownership of weapons in pre-Nazi Germany.  But that's rubbish.  Likely he would have come to power faster as everybody loved Hitler.  Nobody in history could ever grease a microphone like that twisted bastard and he told the story of how he would bring prosperity back to Germany.  Hallelujah!

These days, no-one would even get that excited because, after all, it's just another day ... just another shooting ... and somebody else's kids.
