Taking the X Out of Christmas

Damn you if you say Merry Xmas as only a fire-breathing satanist would say such a disrespectful thing.  It's taking the Christ out of Christmas and, by God, we won't stand for it.

Yah, yah.  The fact is that X has been used as an abbreviation for Christ for many centuries and it even occurs in manuscripts of the New Testament.  (WIKI:  Xmas)

No-one's taking the Christ out of anything but you'd never guess that from all the noise people are making.  We have to defend the church from the advancing zombie horde, by God.  And we will.  Every last one of us.  Damn those zombies.

Any time a church has been torched in the U.S., it's almost invariably been done by, well, other Christians, typically the loving brothers of the Ku Klux Klan.  It's true that some churches, synagogues, and mosques have been desecrated in various lesser ways but it's still not atheists doing it.  Down here on the City Desk, it looks like you all are doing it to each other.  Maybe you might want to take care of that.

So, lighten up on the semantic film flam and maybe have a good time with the season.  Merry Xmas!
