Salma Hayek Directed Her Own Film | Where Were You, Jessica Chastain

When Salma Hayek couldn't find any director willing to work on "Frida," she said 'fuck it' and did it herself.  The result was a spectacular statement for female expression.  (WIKI:  Frida)

Whoops ... I thought Hayek did it but actually she got IMDb: Julie Taymor.  In any case,  men wouldn't touch it so Hayek got it done herself.

Meanwhile, Jessica Chastain carps about the absence of female critics.  (The Guardian:  Jessica Chastain: 'We need more female film critics. 90% are male' - video)

Ed:  is she not aware she is being critical now?

(shrug)

Ed:  what's feminist about specifying what sex should review your work?

Nothin'

Any other questions?

Jessica Chastain could easily answer her own question by looking at The Guardian since there are shitloads of female critics but they don't seem to have much interest in movies but they've got a tremendous interest in criticizing men.

Ed:  why don't they do something effective about it?

Easier just to carp

How about we talk to Peggy Whitson about these wimps.  We would but she's been in orbit on the ISS for, oh, ten years or so since she's the astronaut with the most cumulative time in space.

Ed:  what time do you think she has for wimps?

Zero and hat tip to her for that.

Those tawdry li'l tarts with their witchin' and their bitchin' are just a hemorrhoidal pain in the ass when they're not willing to do anything about it.  Joining the military is just about the worst things any human can do short of posing for selfies in front of speeding locomotives but there are women who do it so how about we ask them about whiny wimps?

Ed:  I don't want to get shot!

Me either

Tell you what, let's ask Captain Deidre Dashing, an F-18 driver, what she thinks of Jessica Chastain's movie.

Ed:  she probably never saw it

She never even heard of it, mate.
