When there are not enough terrorists to demonstrate your point, there's a way to solve that problem, the FBI way.
This solution requires one or more crazy people. The type of craziness is not important so long as they are gullible and prone to delusion.

The voters are not terrorists but rather victims of terrorists (i.e. politicians).
The way to manufacture terrorists is to find one or more crazy people and then help this person actualize his crazy ideas.
Need gelignite? Sure, we can get you that.
Need automatic weapons? Sure, we can get you those.
Need dope and hookers? Sure, we call some friends at the Secret Service and get you all kinds of dope and hookers.
As soon as your FBI guys round up all this weaponry and deliver it to the crazy person, you can bust him for conspiracy to commit a terrorist attack and send him to Fort Leavenworth for the rest of his life.

The story would not have even made the news except the man's father is a cop and he's the one who reported the son as crazy. The FBI supplied the boy with the weapons he wanted and now the lunatic is up on Big Charges.
The only real terrorism in this case is the destruction of the support system for management of mental health care in the U.S. by Ronald Reagan over thirty years ago. It's a direct consequence of that action which results in jails today being used as surrogate mental hospitals and the example quoted here is one way to keep them stocked.
Even better, many of these jails are now run by private business so there's a whole new model for jurisprudential corruption insofar as judges are paid to keep these prisons continually supplied with prisoners. It's yet another failure of the GOP concept of privatization and, if you liked this, you'll love what they do to the Postal Service. What the hell, those postmen are probably terrorists too. Be ever vigilant.
