Queen Elizabeth gives the NAZI salute, proclaims the headline. Then begins an article which takes journo sewage to a whole new stratum of sleaze. (CNN: UK newspaper publishes footage of queen giving Nazi salute)

The purpose isn't to reveal anything but rather it's admiration. Some proto-human somewhere found a bit of footage from eighty years ago of a six-year-old Elizabeth giving a Seig Heil salute. Naturally, the first thought of the proto-human was to put this on the front page and do a work-up on the NAZI sympathies of the Royal Family.
Sometimes people will assail my writing as overly harsh but how can I possibly top this effort. The Royal Family never ran from the bombing in WWII and it's stunning that a journo could write such a piece about them now.
So it's admiration in the same class as confidence artists and serial killers. Wow, you are one seriously damaged bit of work, aren't you.
What people leave out of it every single time was Hitler was charming ... until he wasn't. For quite a while he had the whole world gulled and he built up his machine on the sly in the background. Check out the old footage and you'll see him out there kissing babies like any old down-home politician. Of course they loved him. He was good at it. Until he wasn't.
