How About Some Hogwash from the News

What do you know, the first one makes me want to stand up with a tall salute to John McCain for courage in a situation somewhat like mine.  It's been discovered his brain cancer is an aggressive kind so he's fucked and he knows it.  He didn't come out whinging and whining but rather had the following to say.

Although McCain said he hoped to beat the disease and live as long as possible, he seemed to be at peace.

"Every life has to end one way or another," McCain said.

Asked how he wanted to be remembered, McCain responded: "He served his country, and not always right -- made a lot of mistakes, made a lot of errors -- but served his country, and I hope we could add, honorably."

CNN:  John McCain: 'I'm facing a challenge'

Rockhouse respect to the man.

Zen Yogi:  I thought you loathed many of the things he did

That's true, Yogi, but what difference should that make now.

Although it's a monster bitch in Florida and on North from there but it doesn't seem it was as bad as it might have been all for a tiny twist of Fate.  Irma went just a little more to the West before it turned North as it had been predicted to do.  There were realistic expectations Miami would be obliterated just as happened in multiple Caribbean islands and also the Florida keys.

No-one got lucky but it appears it could easily have been much worse.

Zen Yogi:  Rush Limbaugh will just move back down there to start broadcasting climate change is a fake

Sure he will and let's hear him say that to Hurricane Jose who follows right behind.

This is the first year on record that the continental United States has had two Category 4 hurricane landfalls in the same year.

CNN:  Irma floods Jacksonville, Charleston and Savannah

What do you think, Rushie?  Wanna try for three.

Climate change models have predicted already that hurricanes would get more destructive and more frequent so he can quote fake facts from whatever he tries to pass off as science but what's your guess, mates, on how well that will slow a tidal surge.  Limbaugh only sounds like more of a galumphing galoot every time he opens his opportunistic yap.

We do have a beauty from Hillary Clinton who is still trying to wag the dog with her tales of Trump's collusion with Russia.  In fact, she said she's convinced of it.

CNN:  Clinton 'convinced' there was collusion between Trump aides, Russia

Zen Yogi:  speaking of galumphing galoots?

Sure thing, Yogi, and let's have some of that.

Clinton 'convinced' there was collusion between Trump aides, Russia - CNN

Zen Yogi:  she has a remarkable ability to convince herself of things which serve as excuses for her failure

It gets better, Yogi.

"I happen to believe in the rule of law and believe in evidence, so I'm not going to go off and make all kinds of outrageous claims," the former Democratic presidential hopeful said. "But if you look at what we've learned since (the election), it's pretty troubling."

- CNN

Zen Yogi:  I might have missed something but she made an outrageous claim in her previous sentence

I told you it gets better, Yogi.  That bit about pretty troubling was a marvel too, wasn't it.

Zen Yogi:  I have better command of the language than that and I'm a bear

Yep as it might have been anything from somewhat troubling to deeply troubling but pretty doesn't mean anything in that context.

Zen Yogi:  ok, Silas.  I'm deeply convinced she's just another galumphing galoot.  Do you have another for the trifecta?

I don't know, Yogi.  Let's spin that MSM Rubbish Wheel again and try our luck.

Bingo.  CNN:  Fox host compares 9/11 memorial to Confederate monuments

On Monday, the 16th anniversary of 9/11, a Fox News commentator wondered if a memorial for victims of the terrorist attack might eventually meet the same fate as statues depicting Confederate generals.

- CNN

Zen Yogi:  holy mackerel, where do they find these lunatics?

It's easy.  Trump hires them.

Mostly I see idiot one-liners after those, Yogi.

CNN:  Bannon: Comey firing was worst mistake in 'modern political history'

Actually, one of the worst mistakes Trump made was in hiring a flaming racist such as Bannon.  If he wanted a way to instantly antagonize millions of Americans, he sure as hell found it.  Many white Americans are standing up proudly besides black Americans who are justifiably furious because that was just bullshit.  Everyone needs a fair shot or there's no chance America will be great.

What do you know, Yogi, as here's one with class on CNN:  How NFL Teams, Players Observed National Anthem on 16th Anniversary of 9/11

Members of the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints stood during "The Star-Spangled Banner" on Monday night, opting against partaking in the national anthem protests that have occurred throughout the NFL.

- CNN

Zen Yogi:  I thought you loathed standing for the anthem at games and such?

I do when it's obligatory but this wasn't about obedience, this was about love.

Yogi, when I saw there was an article about the first day in school for Prince George, I knew my search was over.

Zen Yogi:  your search for the best story?

No, mate, for the end.
