Stepping it Up with Stevie Ray Vaughn Live at Montreux in 1985

Mystery Lady and I saw him at Riverbend in Cincinnati on his last tour before the helicopter crash and it was grand.  I don't want to dwell on the tragedy of that or our loss but rather it's best to stand back and listen.

Respect.

Note:  what editorial should I write.  What point would there be??  (larfs)

Update:  something I never noticed previously is Vaughn is using the rhythm pickup for playing his lead and I have usually done that as well because the treble pickup is too screechy for me.

I also noticed in a comment when someone wrote he uses a quite heavy gauge of strings and you may get some idea since the high E string on the Galaxy Guitar is .010 whereas Vaughn prefers .013.  That may not seem like much if you do not play but, for me, that's the difference between driving a sports car and driving a truck yet you see how he handles them.  He must have exceptional strength in his arms and fingers to do that but probably no-one will argue on a better sound from heavier strings for all kinds of reasons in physics which no-one wants to hear.

Most interesting.  There's no need for me to change anything since since switching strings would upset the balance of the galaxy which, of course, exists for my amusement.
