Lewis Hamilton Wins Third World Driving Champion Title in U.S. Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton is probably known to everyone in England and America got a great look at him today when Elton John interviewed him after he won the United States Grand Prix here in Texas.  This makes him a three-time winner as World Driving Champion and this catches him up with Ayrton Senna, the God of Formula One to many people.  (The Guardian:  Lewis Hamilton wins third F1 world title with victory at US Grand Prix)

The link has detail on the drive and it's kind of cool that he did it in the wasteland of Texas.

For regulars, the win was somewhat anti-climactic because Hamilton has dominated in F1 this season.  Rosberg and he were well-matched but Hamilton pulled more out of his car somehow and I'm sure the devotees can tell you the exact detail but, here in the Rockhouse, we like the sport of it more than the wrenching.  My brothers can make an internal combustion motor sit up and bark but I was pleased if managed to change a water pump.  I really never cared what makes them go, I just like driving them.
