The Rockhouse isn't Becoming the Little House on the Prairie

A moment ago I suggested Agent Y might want to check out the last couple of articles since she may find them somewhere between reassuring to heartwarming.  The #Blotto launched with astounding speed and thanks for that.  Almost as soon as it went live it was booming.

My temptation was to balance the sweetness with something twisted but I find highly amusing from The Onion about Washington but that will keep for the moment since I like the feeling of consistency in the vibe coming from the openers.

I didn't watch "Little House on the Prairie" when it was new because I didn't have any kids and, without family to help relate to it, that kind of show doesn't bring much.  In my own life, my sibs disappeared for an aggregate of 25-30 years while they were determinedly making babies and building their families.

When they returned to the fray, they were feeling highly familial but I didn't particularly feel it since Mystery Lady and I had no kids and our thoughts were tuned to making cool things and going to concerts as much as possible.  My sibs hadn't abandoned us but rather they were incredibly busy doing what parents do in bringing up their children.  It would have been pointless for them to call me when they have trouble with their kids, I'm useless since I knew nothing about any kids, only that I'm afraid to touch them since they might break or something.

The situation was somewhat the reverse of when I returned from the military since my frame of reference had changed radically but there was no way they could know of it.  In the mirror of that, their frames of reference grew to include the myriad things involved in raising children to their majorities but there was no chance of that in the frames of reference of ML and I since those experiences did not exist.

None of this is a lament or a criticism; it's only the evolution of life or evolution of families, if you like.

I like what I know of the concept of the Little House but it wouldn't be authentic for me to model that in one or more articles because that would be contrived for effect rather than pursuing my actual interests which are wide.  However, I don't want to reject such articles at all times since sometimes they may have direct meaning which applies to anyone.  When Southwest dedicates one of their aircraft to a critter rescue as part of Hurricane Harvey relief, that will surely get my attention.

This is something of a test since all the big players are in-game now and I'm quite a bit wasted but faculties don't seem to take any substantive loss so I'm pleased.  My question now is whether I can hack it watching "Hope Floats" and it seems likely I could but tiredness will win for now

Zen Yogi:  "Hope Floats" is loaded with the Little House vibe although greatly changed by the century in-between.

Sure and I revel in the story but I'll give the win to sleep just now.   Tomorrow or early a.m. to continue.
