We only listen to the singers
other people speak but it doesn't matter what they say
We easily see through all the ringers
and those who seek will only walk away
We need to hear a melody
coming from some tender youth
We need to hear it from a singer
as ever they seek only to give us truth
Some will simply scoff at silly love songs
they're banal worthless trifles which do not mean a thing
but we hear the purest truth in every lyric
we know it the moment they ever start to sing
There are speeches, just as peaches,
which will rot and start to mold
There's nothing in them living
when they started they were old
The speechers never want singers
they can't stand the truth they bring
There's not any way they can avoid it
We know it as soon as they will sing
other people speak but it doesn't matter what they say
We easily see through all the ringers
and those who seek will only walk away
We need to hear a melody
coming from some tender youth
We need to hear it from a singer
as ever they seek only to give us truth
Some will simply scoff at silly love songs
they're banal worthless trifles which do not mean a thing
but we hear the purest truth in every lyric
we know it the moment they ever start to sing
There are speeches, just as peaches,
which will rot and start to mold
There's nothing in them living
when they started they were old
The speechers never want singers
they can't stand the truth they bring
There's not any way they can avoid it
We know it as soon as they will sing
