The photograph is a perfectly-stated vision of remembrance since ANZAC Day is held in deep respect in Australia and New Zealand.

There must have been heavy engagement with ANZAC troops at Gallipoli since you may hear of that quite a bit in Australia.  These are also the troops who fought the Japanese in the jungles in New Guinea which may have been one of the most difficult or impossible places for fighting, particularly during the rainy season when they were trying to hump their way through the mud.  It's said they ran out of all provisions for a while except for canned peaches so they lived on them and came to absolutely hate canned peaches.  Unknown if that's true but it's definitely true these are some of the bravest, most bad ass soldiers you may ever find.

Do not send them back to war again.  We owe him to be able to bring up his own kids without facing the need to send them to do the same thing he did.

As a kid I remember wave after wave of Canberra bombers flying over Sydney for ANZAC Day.  I had never seen so many aircraft and flying in formation like that was insane.

I'm not sure of the name of the street in Sydney but it was big and wide downtown.  It would be filled from side to side with ANZAC veterans marching with each other.  I don't recall much else but those two things really stuck.
