If you never heard of a German band called an oom-pah band then you wass neffer in Zinzinnati. If a German band shows up without a tuba and an accordion, you know they will just cover Beatles songs and Heymarket Riot could do that.
Ed: who is Heymarket Riot?
If you do not know then you also wass neffer in Zinzinnati, at least not in the 70s. They played at Alexander's in Clifton quite a bit.
Haindling definitely knows oom-pah since they're from a village in Bavaria but they've grown a wide following. (WIKI: Haindling)
You may not (i.e. definitely won't) classify this as oom-pah.
Hmmm ... oom-pah rap may result in a measure of cognitive dissonance ... but ... here's some more: apparently the sound is about needing 'a splint for your butt' (i.e. Cat's explanation). "Cop Killer" just isn't going to play with them.
But Haindling can do oom-pah just fine.
Cat told me this one is about how we need to stick together.
