On seeing EnterTRAINment's video, I couldn't believe this could be in Cincinnati and yet I never saw it after living there for years. It turns out planning and construction didn't start until 2008 and I was already gone by then. You can visit the EnterTRAINment Web site to get details, tickets, etc.
Just in case you may skip the video, the huge hugeness of the scale is astounding. At first I thought this must be in Germany because they're crazy about modeling over there but being in Cincinnati has a lot of resemblance because there is so much German influence. I looked at the History for the group doing the build and, sure enough, there are multiple names which sound German.
Biggest HO-scale airport in the world is in MINIATUR WUNDERLAND HAMBURG
Note: I didn't know where this one was located as I only saw 'HO scale airport' and wondered how that even works. It's amazingly convincing and, what do you know, this one is in Germany.

The CGE train display was second to none for years. The second best display was the gentleman on Riddle road. His display was just shy of CGE. And it was up year round until he passed but he would always answer thr door and talk trains even if like me And knew nothing
I do remember both of those and that's why it surprised me to hear of this one. How can it be I never heard of it before. It's new and they go year 'round so hopefully that one gets as popular as the one in Hamburg which they said is the most popular tourist attraction they have, at least in Hamburg.
Dad had a great love for model trains (that's where I got my love for them!). And he had a very impressive collection--bought many of them from that little train shop at the bottom of the hill on McMicken--it was there for years...

I do remember that store and it was there forever. It's a drag when those kinds of stores disappear in front of the big ones. No-one loves model trains more than the people who run those little stores.
I saw earlier today you can still get HO-scale cars ... for about $45. Some determined enthusiasts running around out there!
