How Cops and Politicians Destroyed America's Integrity

Possibly nowhere else on the world has the rights of the individual been celebrated more enthusiastically than in America and no force on the planet has done more to destroy those rights than American cops.  The destruction of the right to protection against the depredations of cops started with Ronald Reagan when he killed the Miranda Rights for people who have been arrested.

Note:  the Miranda Rights required police to read you your rights when they arrest you.  Today citizens have no rights and cops have murdered 961 of us this year.  As with many of the things failing in America today, it all goes back to Reagan.

Many have likely heard of the Stingray device multiple police forces have been using to monitor traffic on every cellphone in a given area and it abandons any concept of the requirement of a court order to perform a search.  Something not familiar to me is that the Stingray is not the only example since it's one of multiple in the class of Orwellian state weapons.  (Ars Technica:  Meet the machines that steal your phone’s data)

Protection against illegal search and seizure is a fundamental guarantee in America and it is ensured by the Fourth Amendment.  Do you ever hear the gun rights nutters say anything about that Amendment?

Right.  Me either.

Note 1:  the Fourth Amendment was another fundamental of America which faded into obscurity due to Reagan and has never been given anything more than lip service ever since.  That the Amendment is so vital is shown by the fact it was only the fourth one to be written with many more to follow.

It was vital until Reagan.  Reaganomics was an obvious failure since trickle down has never worked but the bigger problem is what Reagan did to protections against the police because that did work and today we hear of more of their cop crimes every day (along with corrupt prosecutors and easy-pay judges).

Note 3:  there has been no differentiation of politicians into different parties since Reagan because we have not seen a real Democrat since.  Obama did nothing about the destructiveness of the Reagan administration toward the Constitution and, in fact, Obama made it even worse by extending all aspects of state intrusion and using the tiresome and hackneyed maxim of weak politicians everywhere that it was needed for security.

Obama did nothing about the Patriot Act except to make it worse along with the NDAA and multiple other aspects of state intrusion.

None of the state abuses by Reagan and his spawn were ever changed because Republicans are the slime molds of humanity and Democrats turned into a bunch of spinelessly complacent nancies.

Cadillac Man sent me the link to the Ars Technica and he's not generally given to the Ways of the Firebrands when he's not a man who waves his hands in the air about things.

C.M.:  this article hasn't drained the topic as I don't know who first proposed the Fourth Amendment nor do I know of what defenses it has received over the years or if ever previously needed any defense until Reagan and the sub-units who followed him.

Sorry but it didn't show.

There's another article needed on surveillance. Such an incredible mess.
