Never Got Around to Interviewing Satan

The Interview with Satan I'm sure is a funny bit ... so long as I actually do it and convince Miss Mona it's a good plan to screw with the devil.

Some people are afraid of the devil but what's the problem.  If you don't sign the contract, he can't do a thing.  Same deal as with vampires as they can't do anything if you don't invite them in.

The object is to ridicule him because he's such a worthless demon.  It will get stale if I wait too long and the hold-up is because I need to program a patch for the lasers so the only active unit is the Eyes of Satan dual red lasers.  The Voice of Satan can be actuated by a foot switch and the Eyes of Satan can be activated by putting the light controller to my left side.  When I summon him, two red lasers will appear over my head and go out to the back of the room, all through smoke.

So programming the patches is a nuisance.  People who like Windows get off on doing stuff like that.

So, uh, Satan ... maybe we can fit you into the schedule tomorrow.  We'll see.  And, while you wait, if you could do something about that smell.  Have you ever taken a bath, as in ever, in all eternity?

Vandengroef will play at 1pm SLT on Thursday and that's 3pm here / 10pm Deutschland.  That gives a shot at 2pm SLT to take another shot at "Demons and Butterflies" as that bit is deliciously complicated in it can't get polished but I want it to sound cool.  "Swing Heil" needs another whack but that wants the looper which often acts like a schoolboy with a tummy ache because he doesn't want to go today.  Damn wuss.  There isn't a huge complaint as it's old and has put up with immense abuse ... well ... until now.

Unknown how much the corpus will tolerate.  If you watch the last (i.e. only) crack at "Demons and Butterflies," that's not me trying to rock with the music but rather I'm trying not to fall over.  I did not such a bad job of that, in fact.

There is still the unresolved problem of the video sync.  This has faded back and forth between possible solutions but it's not nailed.  It's got to be a problem with the way the frame rate for each source medium is mixed with the others but it's still not clear where that problem lies.  One thing needing to be checked is whether the input format matters.  One camera sends AVCHD and that definitely goes out of sync.  The other one sends MP4 and I don't know for sure with that one.  It will take a ten minute test to find out and it may go into the toilet if the sync blows.  The other option is to modify the timing of the video to force it into sync with the audio track but that's such a clever way to do something weak.

So that should shake out to Satan tomorrow, change the strings on Wednesday because they need a day to get settled even with locking keys, and then follow Vandengroef on Thursday.  None of this is locked and Cat may book someone else in the interim.  For sure she will like it better if I confirm it quickly as then she can post it.  Following Van works fine as it's ok if it doesn't go an hour because no-one follows.
