John Boehner is not exactly on my list of favorite love muffins after all the government shutdowns, etc.
But ...
After listening to him say why he resigned, it looks very much like Pope Francis showed him the light. Maybe the tears are real because what he has been doing doesn't reconcile with what the Pope has been saying. (CNN: House Speaker John Boehner: 'I decided today is the day')
From what he said, it seemed Francis brought a deep humility to him.
There won't be any more bashing of him, at least until it's clear. He might actually have redeemed himself.
