Staying Over in a Capsule Hotel in Tokyo

Tokyo, Japan

We see the general concept but it's not clear how it works.  It seems you can read until you fall asleep if you like but there doesn't seem to be any facility which permits showering and changing clothes in the morning.  Maybe there's a communal unit for that purpose so it's not necessary for every 'room.'

Japanese seem spartan in general in their requirements for sleeping facilities but this type of minimal setup goes well past spartan.  It may be hard to grok the demand for this abode, my brothers and sisters.
